Capel Bryn Iwan, Caerfyrddin

The members of Capel Bryn Iwan were keen to improve their facilities, especially as the toilets were situated at the back of the cemetery without any electric lights to lead the way. They decided therefore to raise funds to extend the vestry and create a new modern room which would house the toilets and build a suitable entrance ramp. The benefits of the project have now been realised, and the chapel has convenient, modern, and clean toilets which are accessible for everyone, including the disabled and children. There is also a new wide ramp which facilitates easy access for all. And the work was completed just in time for the Induction Service of Reverend Gareth Ioan, who has recently become the new minister of Bryn Iwan, Blaenycoed, Moriah Blaenwaun, and Nanternis chapels.

The vestry has also been used by the local community, with the Young Farmers and the local Aelwyd meetings taking place there. All the attendees were delighted with the new facilities!

Many thanks to the James Pantyfedwen Foundation for its extremely kind support towards this project. This grant, together with the support of other grants and the members' contributions, has helped cover all the costs.
