St Teilo's Church, Merthyr Mawr

The members of St Teilo’s Church, Merthyr Mawr, were keen to install a kitchenette in the church to provide teas and light refreshments for the congregation and visitors. The project has now been completed, with the quality of the work much admired.

The kitchenette has already been used to extend fellowship to a church group of about 35 people who could see many possibilities for its future use in the village community as well as local groups. The pleasure in not having to carry heavy water bottles to the Church and heavy trays of dirty crockery home now that we have hot and cold water, as well as a dishwasher, means we can fulfil our aims of increasing church use and provide a venue to unite and support the local community. This will be of benefit to the congregation, village residents and visitors for the local and wider community. We are still improving the facilities in the church with a new boiler and heating system also having been installed as well as new lighting which really shows St Teilo’s at its very best. We are now working hard towards having a disabled access toilet and new path in the not-too-distant future.

We are now busily planning plan all manner of fundraising and social events and are very excited that a concert is scheduled to take place in our beautiful church in July. It will be so nice to be able to offer refreshments to those attending We are very grateful to the James Pantyfedwen Trust for their contribution which has significantly helped with the provision and installation of this kitchenette.
