Heledd Ainsworth

I received a Pantyfedwen grant to follow the LPC and LLM course, which is a Legal Practice Course as well as a Master's degree in Law, from Cardiff University – and for which I received a Distinction. The course was essential to be able to train to be a lawyer. The Pantyfedwen grant was a great help financially, as the fees of such a course are double those of an undergraduate degree; receiving the scholarship therefore was a great boost. I also took advantage of completing an additional module in Advocacy through the medium of Welsh.

I now work as a Trainee Lawyer with a bilingual commercial company in Cardiff. I specialize in Employment Law as well as providing advice on the 2011 Welsh Language Bill, and therefore use my Welsh on a daily basis when advising clients. My career intention is to stay in Wales in order to be able to use my bilingual skills and offer advice in Welsh as well as English to clients.
