Buckley Cross Methodist Church
Buckley Cross Methodist Church and Community Centre have been going through a refurbishment programme for the last 7 years. Up to last year the Church had been the main focus of the refurbishment, having new lighting, windows, roof, vestry refurbish and redecoration throughout. But a decision was then taken by Church Council to begin to refurbish the Community Centre which is a completely separate building and had not been touched for around twenty years.
The Community Centre is used on a daily basis by all manner of groups including Sunday School, Toddler Group, Foodbank and Warm Hub which are run by the Church. After applying for grants and fundraising, we have been able to install new lighting, replace the floor in the main hall, install new entrance doors and replace radiators with new more energy efficient radiators, buy new chairs and fit window blinds. We also have enough funding left to be able to refurbish the outside canopies which are rusting and very dirty.
The result is a warmer, more energy-efficient building. The look and feel of the main hall is lighter and warmer and all users are happy with the end result. The grant from James Pantyfedwen Foundation was very gratefully received and has been put towards the refurbishment. Thank you for your support.
