I am so grateful to the Pantyfedwen Foundation for its support during my Bar Training Course. The scholarship gave me the opportunity to start the course to train as a barrister at Cardiff University. Financially, the scholarship was essential due to the high cost of the course and the extracurricular elements that needed to be completed during the year. I had to travel to London a number of times to complete Applied Sessions, and I would not have been able to do this without the help from Pantyfedwen towards the fees.

The Bar course was certainly a difficult academic year, but at the same time I enjoyed being challenged and assessed in new ways, such as when advocating. My favourite memory of the course was taking part in a mock trial competition as part of a group of four and winning the final at the Crown Court in front of a real judge!

During the year, I was successful in my application for pupillage and will begin the final stage of training in a chamber in Swansea in April 2023.

Without the help of the Pantyfedwen Scholarship, I would not have been able to have the experience of training to be a barrister and I really appreciate it.
