I am incredibly thankful to the James Pantyfedwen Foundation for the support that has enabled me to complete my Masters in the Psychology of the Arts, Neuroaesthetics and Creativity at Goldsmiths University, London.
I became fascinated with the field of neuroaesthetics in the third year of my neuropsychology undergraduate degree. Being able to continue studying this area of research has deepened my knowledge of the field. I hope to move forward in my career now by applying my knowledge in an applied setting and using the arts in a therapeutic way. My research project involved the development of a robust standardised tool to measure the benefits young people derive from engagement with the arts. I was fortunate enough to collaborate with Curious Minds, a bridge organisation funded by the Arts Council that helps support young people through arts and culture.
I do not have the words to express how grateful I am for the generous support afforded to me by the James Pantyfedwen Foundation. Completing the Masters remotely during the global pandemic has been incredibly difficult, and it is the support from the Foundation that motivated me to keep going. Thank you.
