My year on the LL.M (International Business Law Pathway) has been fantastic! I have been able to specialise in an area of law that is truly fascinating and ever-changing due to its international nature, particularly in current times. I have been taught by some of the most renowned academics and practitioners in the world, who have provided constant support and encouragement not only in relation to my studies but also towards the fulfilment of my future career. Some off the modules that I have studied this year include International Business Litigation, International Regulation of Financial and Economic Crime, World Trade Law, and International Comparison of Trademarks and Unfair Competition Law amongst others.

Whilst at Kings, I have also participated in extra-curricular activities that will boost my future career prospects. This year I was appointed as the LL.M representative for the KCL Bar and Mooting Society, where I arranged networking events for students and organised mock trials to practice advocacy skills. These activities also acted as networking opportunities for myself, putting me in contact with various Barristers who were always happy to offer insight and advice. I also became an LL.M mentor, offering support and advice to prospective law students.

Alongside academic study and extra curricular activities I made sure to undertake various work placements. This year I have completed four mini-pupillages and worked alongside judges at the Crown Court and the Court of Protection. These work placements proved to be very valuable, and will help me pursue my desired legal career.

My future plans are already well underway. I have secured a place on the BPTC (Bar Practitioners Training Course) at the University of Law Bloomsbury commencing September 2020, to begin my barristers training. This coming year I will be working in the legal sector to gain further experience, which will benefit my pupillage applications.

I would like to thank everyone at James Pantyfedwen for your support this year. I would not have been able to continue onto postgraduate education without it.
