Sioned Mair Beynon

I am extremely grateful to the James Pantyfedwen Foundation for their support in enabling me to follow an MA Music Course at Cardiff University. The course was key to my musical and personal development.

I was fortunate to receive many valuable opportunities during my Masters’ studies, and had the opportunity to develop my personal composition style. I also had the experience of composing for a number of different combinations of instruments and attending workshops with professional instrumentalists to develop and work on my pieces, and hearing my work being performed within these workshops. I was also grateful to the University for giving me the platform to perform my own compositions in public concerts. I also studied modules outside the field of composition, such as modules on teaching and conducting ensembles, which were very beneficial. The course enhanced my development, not only as a composer, but as a general musician.

I truly hope that I will be able to continue composing and performing in my spare time and am very grateful to the Foundation for their support.
