The James Pantyfedwen Foundation provided me with a generous grant to support mystudies at the University of Oxford. I completed an MSc in Environmental Change and Management and through this, I completed modules on climate change communication andecological economics. My dissertation looked at the public perceptions and social acceptability of direct air capture, a carbon removal technology, in Wales and England. For this, I carried out public focus groups and semi-structured interviews to understand how people envisage climate technologies operating in a net zero future.

Since graduating, I have worked in different research groups at the School of Geography and the Environment, conducting research on climate technologies and the involvement of the public through democratic processes. I also began working at a direct air capture company which I was lucky to meet through the interviews for my dissertation. I am extremely grateful for the generous funding of the James Pantyfedwen foundation which aided me in attending and completing this course!
