Carys Bradley Roberts

In 2017, I was fortunate enough to receive a grant by the James Pantyfedwen Foundation to help pay for the fees at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. I studied for an MA in Arts Management, and had the opportunity to develop my marketing, finance, and management skills within the context of the arts. I received a Distinction in the course and was appointed a Creative and Marketing Programme Assistant in the College, five months before officially completing my degree.

I have now been in this post for 9 months, and thoroughly enjoy it. I’m able to use all the skills I learnt on the course. From day to day, I prepare marketing campaigns for all the shows produced in the College and support the Head of Creative Programmes to plan visits by international artists; this includes organising accommodation, travel and schedules for the companies and musicians visiting the College. The course has led me to my first full time post and has developed my skills and confidence. I certainly hope to continue working in this field, but this would not have been possible without completing the course. I am sincerely grateful to the Foundation for the support I received.
